What ages does The First Tee instruct?

The ages of kids that The First Tee was designed to reach are 5-17.

What is the cost?

There is a $40 fee for each session. That fee covers 8 weeks of classes. There are scholarships available, please ask for an application if you are interested.

Who are the instructors?

Typically there is a PGA professional as well as a First Tee coach at each session. We are also always in need of volunteers, if you are interested please contact the office at (217) 224-5902.

Do you cancel classes in case of rain?

We hardly ever cancel a session. If it does rain we hold our classes at the Pepsi Indoor Golf Academy at 117 S. 10th Street in Quincy. You can always call our office to double check (217-224-5902).

How long are your sessions?

Our classes are typically one hour in length, held once a week for 8 weeks.

Is equipment supplied or do we need our own set of clubs?

We have clubs for you to use at each class. If you have your own set you are welcome to bring it.

Can we rent clubs?

We have a program where you can "rent" a set of clubs for $50 until you're 17 years old. If you grow and need a bigger set, we can refit the clubs for $10. That way you can play golf even when you're not in class.

Where is your office and when is it open?

Our office is located in our Indoor Academy at 117 South 10th Street in Quincy. Due to the nature of the schedule, our office hours are irregular. If you don’t want to take a chance at missing us, call the office before you drop by (217-224-5902).

Where do the classes take place?

Classes are held at Westview Golf Course and the Knights of Columbus Golf Course/Driving Range. Our winter sessions take place in our Indoor Facility located at 117 South 10th Street in Quincy.

Do you give private instruction?

At this time we are providing private instruction. Please call to make an appointment.

Do you have classes outside of Quincy?

Our goal is to have golf instruction in surrounding areas. Summer classes have been held in Hamilton and Camp Point. In the future we hope to have classes in Hannibal and Canton. Through the First Tee School Program, we have introduced the game of golf to students in Quincy, Camp Point, Hamilton, Hannibal, Payson, Barry, Golden and Liberty.

Do you accept donated clubs or golf balls?

We have a great need for putters. Any golf club is gratefully accepted along with balls and junior golf bags.
