  After-School Programs
In-depth instruction is offered during our after-school programs. Typically a session meets one hour a week for 8 weeks. Class size is limited to 12 people due to facility capacity. Kids learn life skills along with golf skills and follow the curriculum of The First Tee.

  Golf Programs
Our spring, summer, and fall sessions are held at the Knights of Columbus golf facility. Winter sessions are held at the Pepsi Indoor Golf Academy. We hold Player, Par, Birdie, Eagle, and Competitive level classes for anyone ages 5-18. In addition to classes, we also offer various playing opportunities and trips to golf tournaments. For more information click Calendar to your left.

New in 2009, we are now offering beginning golf lessons for adults! Please call 217-224-5902 to make an appointment for your individual or group golf lesson. Everyone is welcome!

  School Program
This program was started in 2001- 2002 as First Touch and now is The First Tee School Program, we now touch thousands of youth in public and private elementary schools in the Great River area. The First Tee is encouraging PE teachers from the various schools to teach golf themselves. The First Tee offers instruction to the coaches as well as the use of its SNAG equipment. In this way, students can continue to be introduced to golf.

  Curriculum
The First Tee offers curriculum for different levels: Player, Par, Birdie, and Eagle. Students integrate golf & life skills throughout the year in the after-school sessions.

The First Tee Life Skills Experience

The First Tee Life Skills Experience is one of the unique features that differentiates The First Tee from many other successful junior golf programs.  Through the Life Skills Experience, participants learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences and how to define and set goals from the golf course to everyday life.
The First Tee Certification Process

The First Tee wants everyone who completes The First Tee Experience to have acquired basic golf skills and to be able to demonstrate certain fundamental life skill concepts – such as interpersonal communication and the importance of rules and etiquette.
The First Tee Coach
